The Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA)
IEMA is the professional body for everyone working in environment and sustainability. We’re committed to supporting, encouraging and improving the confidence and performance, profile and recognition of all these professionals. We do this by providing resources and tools, research and knowledge sharing along with high-quality formal training and qualifications to meet the real world needs of members from their first steps on the career ladder, right to the very top.
We believe that together we can change perceptions and attitudes about the relevance and vital importance of sustainability as a progressive force for good. Together we’re transforming the world to sustainability.
Environmental Services Association (ESA)
The Environmental Services Association (ESA) is the trade association representing the UK’s resource and waste management sector.
ESA Members provide essential resource and waste management services to the public and private sectors, and manage waste on behalf of the whole of society, be it through recycling, recovery or landfill. We work with our members to transform waste and resource management across the country.
We work with all levels of government and regulators to deliver more sustainable resource management solutions for the UK, and our work helps enable our Members to turn Britain’s waste into valuable resources while protecting the environment.
The Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)
We are the leading professional membership body representing and supporting ecologists and environmental managers in the UK, Ireland and abroad. Our Vision is of a healthy natural environment for the benefit of current and future generations.
With a growing membership and an increasingly influential voice we are transforming the professionalism of the sector, just as our members are transforming understanding of, and attitudes towards, protecting and enhancing our natural environment. By working together, we believe we can make a difference, leading to a world rich in biodiversity for the benefit of us all, now and in the future.
CIWEM represents and supports a community of thousands of members and organisations in over 89 countries who are dedicated to improving water and environmental management for the benefit of the public. Our aim is to work towards a safer, more sustainable world. Our mission is to build a global community of water and environmental professionals dedicated to working for the public benefit.
As an institution, we are striving to become more inclusive and help the wider water and environmental management sector (WEM) feel that way too. To us, this means making CIWEM a welcoming environment where everyone feels able to participate and that their unique voices and experiences are represented. We have been working as part of the Royal Academy of Engineering and Science Council Diversity and Inclusion progression framework steering group, as well as other water and environmental organisations to improve our levels of equality and inclusion across the sector.
